Video Policy

Allow creators and artists to have the first opportunity to publish their art!

In the All-star/Champion & Invitational Show Divisions, access to videos filmed on our stage is exclusively granted to the event and the performing dancers. Our team will oversee videography, and videos will be shared in cooperation with the dancers. Dancers are allowed to record themselves. Your enthusiasm to promote our dance and support these artists is greatly appreciated. We invite you to help share these videos, ensuring that the dancers retain some ownership of the content after sharing. Everything else follows typical guidelines:

Competitions & Shows

Novice to Advanced Levels: You’re welcome to record and post videos, but it’s courteous to seek permission before posting someone else’s dance video.

Allstar to Invitational Levels: Please refrain from publicly recording or posting. We want to give these dancers the chance to share their own art on their preferred platforms. Designated individuals will record these highlighted dances and collaborate with the artists for content publication. Thank you for your cooperation!

LiveStream: Recording or extracting videos is not allowed. We offer a FREE livestream for dancers who couldn’t attend the event in person, so please respect this opportunity for everyone!

Workshops

Recap Videos: We strongly encourage filming video recaps of workshops you attend. You’re also more than welcome to share with other people who took that class. It’s considered bad form to share with people who didn’t attend, and it’s considered against our policy to post videos online for people who didn’t pay to be there aka who paid that teacher for their time. This is true at BudaFest and all events. Let teachers get paid to share their knowledge. Don’t post lessons.
